Our Nurse Practitioners

Both Julie and Melanie joined Vascular Surgery Associates in 2000 and have been with the Vein Institute of the Midwest, an affiliate of Vascular Surgery Associates since its inception. They bring a combined experience of over 30 years to our practice. In addition to assisting the Doctors in the Operating Room they have been directly involved in evaluating and treating patients with venous disorders.

Together Julie and Melanie have expanded their expertise to include Sclerotherapy, Laser Spider Vein Treatment, Laser Skin Rejuvenation and Laser Hair Removal. They both are certified for Aesthetic Laser treatments from the Iridex Corporation for the Gemini Laser.

Melanie Yunger, Nurse Practitioner-C, RNF

Melanie is a graduate of St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Webster University. She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Melanie is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult Nurse Practitioner.

 

Julie Mills, Nurse Practitioner-C, CRNF

Julie is licensed in the state of Kansas as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Jewell College and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Julie is board certified as a Nurse Practitioner and certified as a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
